Axles?

How do I know for sure what axles I have?? I have two XJ's one is a 92 and the other is an 85, I know what the gear ratios are but the the axles look different on the 92 from the 85, how can I tell for sure what I have. I was told D30's in the front and D35's in the rear but they look different on the two Xj's. Any help on this would be great!!

Since they look different, probably Chrysler 8.25 on the 92 and Dana 35 on the 85. Front Dana 30 on both.

The 85 could also have the AMC 7 9/16in rear end.
