home brew transfer case drop...

I know, I know, there have been a ton of write up's for this kinda thing. BUt here's my question, do you think the wall diamter of the 1" tubing matters? Do you think I can use 1/16 and be ok? There was a write up previously and he used 1/8, but wish he had used 3/16. What do you guys think???

I'd be willing to bet that you would crush 1/16" wall tubing just tightening it down. If someone else said that they wished they had used 3"16" wall I would go that route. They are obviously speaking from experience.

I made mine out of 1/8 wall square hit a good size rock smashed the tubing a bit im gonna make a new one out of solid stock (aluminum)

thats not a bad idea. The only reason I picked up the 1/16" is that's all that home depot had. Maybe lowes will have a better selection. THanks
