steering sleeves

i did a search and could not find...

not to long ago there was a thread about drilling out the steering nuckles to a 5/8" and inserting a sleeve and tack welding it on top to allow a over the knuckle steering. the guy was selling these for like $10 each. anybody know what i am talking about?

Yup, they work well. The only problem that I had was that I had to shave the edge of the ball joint just a tiny bit in order to allow the wheel to turn, but I still had the OEM factory wheels on my XJ at the time.

so, if i do this now, but want to change to a HD set up in the future...like curie or poison spyder customs...is this going to cause me problems? would i end up having to purchase a new knuckle as well? or what if i want to run a beefier tie rod with bigger tie rod ends? or even HEIM joints?
