Who's broken a 27 spl 8.25 with 33s?

I know which axles are stronger than my axle ("upgrade to a 44/8.8" etc), but if anyone's broken an axle shaft with 33x9.50s or 33x10.50s on a 27 spline 8.25 (locked/unlocked, either way share your experience) I'd like to hear about it - how/why did your axle fail? 33's are as big as I will go (will be putting in 4.56s) and am having a hard time justifying the cost to swap out my 27 spline 8.25 for an XJ44 or 8.8.

A 29 spline swap (with cheap parts) seems a much more value/benefit better upgrade than a wholesale axle swap for my 33s/4.56s to me.

--Basically, convince me I need to ditch my 27 spline 8.25 for a 44/8.8 to run 33x9.50s or 33x10.50s with 4.56s (locked or unlocked).--

P.S. I wheel in CO (rocks), and have a light right foot - if I wanted crazy wheeling I wouldn't even consider the stock axles.

I've been running a 27 spline C8.25 with 33's for a little over a year. I only have 3.55's but it's locked and wheeled fairly hard. I haven't had any issues yet. I also just installed rear discs of a '95 Grand with a D35. My buddies say I won't brake the C8.25 but we'll see what this summer brings.
