Leaking Trans

I've noticed that my XJ is leaking trans fluid from the cooler lines, right where the rubber lines and hard lines mate, near the front p-side of the engine, maybe 18" from the rad.

What wears in these connections? What would I have to replace?

I want to put in an aftermarket trans cooler. Would the new lines for the trans cooler replace the existing lines and take care of the problem?

Thanks.

Basically the rubber wears and can be replaced in two main ways...

1. remove rubber hose and replace with 3/8 or 5/16 hose and a few clamps on each side
2. replace entire line with new one rom dealer.

I think either way those rubber lines need to be fixed before you think about installing an auxilary cooler.

MAny ppl dont like my first method of repair as they say it wears and leaks..so its up to u and what you are willing to spend.

Good luck and if you have more question do a search this topi has been covered a million times.
