Fuel pump just went south !!

cardboard

NAXJA Forum User
Well I was driving home from my part time job this evening and the jeep just died, no sputter or spitting just dead. Pull off the road and tried to refire, no luck, then I turned the key off for a minute said a few things I can't repeat and turned the key on.The fuel pump is not making a sound, so if i guess right my fuel pump just went south? Yes or no.
Thanx Digger

hey digger,

I'm back to workin at napa again, except in bloomington now, i think it gave me the bug to start messin with the mj again, but anyways. I would imagine you have done this, but make sure you have checked fuses and relays, you just never know. But as a tip to ya, make sure to look over teh wiring harness on your current fuel pump. I have seen many pumps fail because of the wiring harness, not cause of the fuel pump. Now i dont' know if that applies to jeeps as much as a chevy truck, but most of them are in need of a wiring harness when someone comes in with a failure. Also, even if you narrow it down to the pump, change the wiring harness if you have the option. they are usually the cause of the first one to go out.
