I've been hearing about the weber carbs that others have used on there 2.8 and 3.4 powered xj's and was wondering if they came on any cars from factory? or is it strictly aftermarket?
I cant afford a new carb but if i could find one of theese at the wrecker it would be great

Thanks
Mike

They were used on tons of vehicles, they were also built under license by ford and holley.Look for pinto's and monza's.

cool that helps, now i just have to find one of those (pretty rare in this day and age)
did they come on any of the more common cars from ford and chevy?
citation's firenza's and the like?
I can find a quite a few of the early 80's gm cars around here but not too much older than that.
I know the early mustang's and capri's had straight and v6's in them did they use them on any of these motors?
are the weber carbs clearly marked (as i have no idea what they look like)

thanks for any help
Mike

72 and up Vega GT's had them too. Uses a 4 bolt air cleaner for a quick ID with mark 1 eyeball....

if anyone else is looking for info on carbs i have a couple of links that will help
https://www.rockauto.com/applet3.html
http://www.holley.com/holleyreman/index.html

so far it looks like 73-77 vega's and 75-77 monza's may have the holley made weber carb
and on the ford side
77-80 fairmont's 81-82 granada's
74-82 mustangs 71-80 pinto's

they swapped around carbs on a lot of these depending if it was a manual or auto ar if it had a/c.
so dont take this as gold, but it's a starting point anyway's
