Torx Bit Transfer Case

Allen Bit Transfer Case

Anyone know what size allen bit it takes to drain and replace the fluid in the transfer case?

My 98 with the 242 takes is a 10 mm allen socket. I've never seen one take a torx.

Is that what it is?? I get the two confused. I cant tell much difference between the two. Thanks anyway.

Torx is a star looking bit. Allen looks like a stop sign. Hope that helps.

Might be a difference in the years but my transfer case uses a big socket, i can't remember the exact size, I want to say 1 3/16ths.

It's a 30mm but that might be the standard equivelant.

I'd like to see that stop sign your talking about. In my world they have eight sides.

Later model(96-up) use a 10mm allen socket, earlier use a 30mm or 1 3/16 hex socket.

Just using a quick reference. Stop signs do have eight sides and allen sockets have six. Thanks for pointing that out.
