I am wondering if Stock TJ shocks will fit my XJ that will be getting some lift.. I am shooting for 2 to 3" of lift. I cant remember.. but I thought I read somewhere stock TJ shocks are longer than stock XJ shocks ? Anyone know specs of stock TJ shocks ?

Thanks !
Dan

From the Monroe Master Catalog, for the Reflex series

XJ #911083 (91-01) Comp=13.250 . Ext=21.125 . Travel=7.875
... #911026 (84-90) Comp=12.875 . Ext=20.375 . Travel=7.500

TJ #911026 . . . . . . Comp=12.875 . Ext=20.375 . Travel=7.500

I don't know why the later XJs use a longer front shock, unless that's to accomodate both stock height and Up Country suspensions with a single listing. Rancho (same company) does NOT make a distinction between years for the XJ.

Bottom line is that TJ shocks are going to be the same as or shorter than your XJ shocks.
