2 Lockright Questions before install

If time allows tomorrow I'm hoping to put a lockright in my D44. My first question is, when I put on the spacers on, they go on the other piece like the version on the right correct?

My other questino was, I know I reuse the big thrust washers, but do I use these washers again when I install it? I read the instructions but I'm still not sure.

1. The picture on the right is correct. Put the open end of the spacer towards the axle shaft.

2. That second picture makes no sense to me. The thrust washers go on the side drivers (the splined portion that slides on the axle shaft).
