Fuel Leak @ Tank

I seem to have a fuel leak back at the tank on my 96 XJ. It seems to leak only while the engine is running and being driven so I think the fuel return line may be the problem.
What is involved in dropping the tank? It has a factory hitch but no skid plate.
Are the fuel lines long enough for the tank to sit on the ground without being disconnected?
I suppose the leak is a fitting, so what special tool is needed to disconnect the fittings?

Oh well, ended up being the fuel filter connection. Easy fix.
