I've got a 1994 XJ 2 Wheel drive 4.0L Auto trans, and purchased a 1987 XJ with 4 Wheel drive with 4.0L Auto. Any help with the differances between the two? Has it been done before?
I know the brakes are slightly different and can convert the 1987 axles to the new type, the Speedometer drive is mechanical drive vs electric speed pick up. The forward drive shaft will have the mechanical cable.

Any Idea's or help is apreciated!

Easily done. The trans. and t-case you've got are 21 spline, unlike the newer model stuff that is 23 spline, but it doesn't matter because you've got both of them. You will have to swap the trans. kickdown table from your current trans. to the new one. Brakes will work although they'll be the older style. You will need to buy a vehicle speed sensor for a '94 4x4 because your stock 2wd picks up the signal out of the transmission. HTH, or at least gets you started :)
