oil pan off overnight

so my project took alot longer than I thought anyways I cant install my new oil pump in the dark so I am going to get to it tommrow. Do i need to do anything to protect anything with the oil pan off overnight? I am guessing just a oil flush would do ok once I put it all back together if there get to be anything up in there. Or any other ideas?

Should be no problem, as long as it doesn't rain. I'll typically put a little grease to any machined surface I see if I'm going to hang the project more than a couple hours, just for peace of mind.

Don't forget to reprime your oiling system to-morrow - if you have to, write it on your forehead in black Magic Marker. I've seen people forget - it's a big ugly...
