Bumper

Hey guys....i'm home on spring break and i thought that i'd have my good friend who is an excellent welder build me a front bumper, i just want to build a semi plain bumper, that still looks half decent on xj. I came across this bumper on jeepforum, and i thought it would be pretty cool and easy to build...my only question is, anyone know roughly how much $$$ in steel this would cost me? Thanks guys!!!

It says its 2x4x1/4" square tube between the mounts and 2x4x1/8" on the outers.

dave... nobody can really answer that for you. you need to call your local supplier and ask them what steel goes for in your area.

here in denver, i'd guess right around... $60-$70 total? you might be able to pick it up cheaper by purchasing scraps or sometimes called "salvage". it's new steel that's been chopped of larger peices and priced by weight.

you know the rough lengths.. pick up the phone. :thumbup:
