I don't know if this will help anyone, but I thought I'd put it out there just in case. I bought a 89 XJ a couple weeks ago and the intermittent wipers didn't work, just low and high. I pulled out the intermittent wiper control box and opened it up. There I found a bad relay. The wires on the relay solenoid were broken so I replaced the relay with one I had salvaged from an old computer monitor and SHAZAM!! I had intermittent wipers. Those little things make life so much better.
