I have a '97 Cherokee 4x4 with the AW4 and 150k miles. It seems that if I come to a sudden stop, the automatic transmission doesn't downshift into 1st gear until just a split second AFTER I'm stopped. This seems very odd to me. Anyone else experience this? Under normal stopping conditions, it does not do this.
