when i start my jeep up, it sounds like the power steering belt squeals, when i take corners slow until i speed up....normally it'll do it for the first few minutes, then it'll stop....anybody know of what it might be? is it the power steering pump belt, or a serpentine, or what? i have no clue. thanks guys.

The serpentine belt and power steering belt are one and the same.

Since you haven't replaced any drive accessories like the PS pump or water pump, I'd suggest getting a new serp belt. A new belt does wonders for intermittent squeals. And make sure the tension is good.

Before I replaced the belt, I'd do some checking over it's flight path...

First check static tension... in my 4.0 experiences, 'really tight' - tighter than I am accustomed to - is good... then crank it up and visually inspect for pulley misalignment and if it persists, aurally seek the squeak... fix up some reference points to confirm deflection

thanx guys...i'll check it tomorra at lunchtime, or when i get an opportunity:)
