Just bought an XJ last week. 96 Police special /w/89K Does anyone know what the deal is attached to the bottom of the front bumper? I think it is cast aluminum.

Not a real good pic.... there is only 2 bolts that attach it to the bottom side of the bumper. (bolts are not visible in pic)

I agree that it looks like something was fabbed to fit there. Who the hell knows what though? Nice truck though

I replaced my front bumper, but I have one of those, too! What is it? Also, my front skid plate had a front hole cut in it. I thought maybe it was for a police push bar or something.

Since this thing was registered as a security vehicle, I think it was a bracket to attach some sort of sweeper for the runways. Either magnetic or a broom type. Mike doesn't think that's it. I told him to call the airport & find out , but he won't do that either. JIM.
