shims- aluminum or billet steel

Just wondering if aluminum shims would be ok or should I go with the billet steel shims.

'98 XJ w/ 3" lift (Rustys)
cheap t-case drop (Rustys)

Mostly a DD but would like it not to break when I finally get to offroad.
Thanks

if you want a 1-3 degree its really hard to find them in aluminum locally. Steal is def better for off road stress so they dont crack, but if its a temp solution until you get a fixed yoke setup then just go with aluminum.

go steel or go home. al shims tend to bend, crack, and break like noted above. i had some al shims on for a couple of months for a quick fix, and they were already showing signs of stress.

Get the RE steel ones. they come with a new center pin and attach to the spring pack, that way the center pin engages the perch correctly.
