About to buy a new transfercase chain....

Do I need to buy the 1 inch chain, or the 1 1/4 inch chain? Also, anytips on installing the chain? Thanks.

A standard NP231 uses the narrow chain, roughly 1 inch.

I have a perfectly good used one out of my XJ that I replaced as a result of a misdiagnosis. Make me a reasonable offer and its yours,... if I can find what I did with it.

You don't happen to have a perfectly good 1.25" chain laying around also do you :laugh3:

Your'e talkin' to someone who bought a new one for $99 after a pretty thorough search for the best price. $50 plus shipping. Firm,.... if I can find it. Haha!!!! I suppose I ought to go out to the garage before I make a fool of myself. May I ask why you need a chain? Do you hear it slapping the t-case? Did it break?
