Fuel pump resistor size??

Does anybody out there know the resistance of the Fuel Pump Resistor or ballast resistor on the drive side fender on an 89??

Mine looks like somebody hit it with a hammer a couple times. That coil of wire in the ceramic powder doesn't look too safe hanging there.

I also heard a rumor you can completely jumper it out of the system to give the pump a full 12V during run as well as start. Anybody done this?? Any long term effects??

You can jumper around it but the fuel pump will make a lot more noise. Just buy a new one at the dealer. I bought one recently and it was $6-7. They don't have them at NAPA.
