I've checked on KBB and NADA the prices on my XJ. It's a 98 Base with auto and 4wd. No other options than those really. It's white with a tan interior and has 80k miles on it. I was just wondering what was a good price to ask for such a vehicle. I was thinking of starting it off at $4599. Does that sound reasonable or a bit too high?

Mine is about three weeks old (to me) it is a 97 Cherokee SE, base radio, auto, cruise control, AC, PB/PS and antilock brakes. Picked it up at a government auction, $6000. OH! < 28,000 miles. Based on the bidding by dealers at the auction, I thought it was a great deal.

In researching the car, we found the prices in this area were very high. One owner of a 98 wanted $9000 for a fairly loaded Cherokee with over 100,000 miles.

Your price seams reasonable to me, or maybe a little LOW!!!!

I just payed 8 g's privately for a 2000 loaded. 80k on it...pretty much mint.

I bought my 2000 sport off-lease (after an 18-mo extension on the original lease) for about $8500.... with 53k miles... in June. That "residual" was lowered by about $500 because it's a two-door. (Aka, would have been $9000 if it was a 4-door).

That seemed a bit steep based on some quick glances at local lots (other than the Jeep Dealer!)... but I ordered her myself, and I've known her since she was three days off the assembly line!! The dealer lists similar '01 models on their website, asking $14k.

I've been looking for a '97+, and around here only those with 140k+ are under $5 grand.

I just bought a 99 Sport in perfect shape. Its a 5-speed with power everything and 80k miles. Paid $7500 at a dealer.

KBB for my area was $8500/dealer, $6600/private party.

If you are happy with it, you did good.

I picked up my 94 Country with 156K, 4.0, AW4, np231 & 8.25 rear for $3350. Not the best deal but a very clean truck.

I just recently picked up a 98 Limited with Leather, Up Country, etc. and 87,000 miles for $6500 off of Ebay from a dealer. I know that the prices vary a bit, we sold our 90 Laredo with 195,000 miles for $4,000 a couple of years ago.

'96 Country 71k miles for $54,000 - here in NW OH '98s and up with 100k+ miles going for $10,000+ and not as nice as my '96!

wow, i guess they're a hot commodity out there...

I paid $13,000 for my 2000 Limited, Leather, Premium Sound, Heated seats, Heated mirrors, overhead console, tow package, Silverstone Metallic, SUPER CLEAN, NO abs., 47,000 mi.

I bought it 1yr. 6mos. ago in May 2003 and this week I am rounding 100k mi. (I think I drive too much)

I sign the paperwork Monday for a 2000 XJ Sport. 66k, all power options, 4.5" RE lift, 31" MTRs, Tom Woods Shaft, BPI front bumper, bored out throttle body, and some other stuff I'm sure I'm forgeting.

$6500

Though I'm going from St. Louis to Florida to get it, so you could call it more like $7000 I guess.
