NP242 rear output shaft

Can I use a rear output from a 1998 TJ (NP231) on my NP242?

Reason I ask is, someone is selling off his Hack N Tap from his TJ and I was wondering if I could just swap shafts? Or would I have to remove the Hack N Tap and Hack my shaft?

for a couple reasons.

just consider the "nope" part

I see you asked a little different of a question on JU.

the 231 shaft does you absolutly no good.

as for stealing JUST the flange and bearing/seal housing, I dunno.

if you were planning on taking apart your tcase, you don't have to limit yourself to just a hack and tap kit, you could use a straight-up SYE kit if you wanted.
