It was a pre97 body style, lifted with two fairly distinguishable items:
1. the rear plate was on the safari rack up top
2. on the drivers side above the rear wheel there was a mount bolted to the jeep for a jerry can.
Oh at it was about 8pm or so on the 101 S through the LA area (or was it 5S already?)
Anywone knows that jeep?
