Axle Spline count

hey,
im looking for a corp 8.25 axle, and am wondering if there is any way to know what the spline counts are, as far as based on year, gear ratio or if it can be told by looking at it, (other than reading the diff tag) here is a pic of the axle in question:




This is from a 95 and should have 3.73 gears, the seller told me, so is there any way to know if this is the 29 spline?

if it is froma 95, it is 27 spline

From the looks of it you should pull the cover and count what is there.It is due to have the grease changed anyway.
If it came behind an auto trans it would be 3:55 ,stick 3:07 .27 spline shafts.

Up through late 96 will be a 27-spline, then they went to the 29-spline
