You guys are right , bad idea. Proper maintenance good.

Decided though to carry along some kind of leather strap ot maybe a worn-out tow strap so if it does break in the back, instead over breaking my butt removing the bolts from the currie flange, can support the rear section of the ds until I get home.

Good idea or stupid early Sunday morning a.m. "brainstorm"?

Bad idea. It's either gonna get caught in the support strap and tear something else up or bang around underneath. Either way you'll save alot of headaches with a simple driveshaft removal.
