shock bushing

I got some new shocks for my jeep - rancho 9000's. On the front, they came with some little cylinder of metal already inside the bushing, hollow. It looks like rolled metal, because it has a seam. How do i get it out, and then put in the bar pin? (i got new ones, very similar to the stock type). I could get BPE's, but I'd have to wait a few days, and still have to deal with that piece of metal in the bushing.

It just pushes out. BPEs are a great upgrade idea though

push out, with my hands? Those little suckers won't budge... Not even a hammer can move them.

Vise, press, big cclamp and some sockets...... Also a bit of motor oil makes the job easier.
