i try to get the brake rotor out so i can change the parking brake shoes. i took the caliper off and the rotor seem to be dont want to come out? is there a trick to get the rotor out? i been hammering the rotor w/ 3lb hammer and try to pry it out with a pry-bar, no luck. any trick to get this sucker out?

it's a 97 ford 8.8 disc brake.

thanks

You probably need to back off the emergency brake shoes. Access these by removing the rubber plug on the back side of the backing plate. Use a screw driver to shorten the self adjuster. If it is still stubborn after backing off the self adjuster, try tapping the rotor with a rubber mallet to loosen it.
