97 XJ 4X4. Rear springs clatter over slightest bumps. It appears to be coming from the clamps around the springs. Are they supposed to have any type of rubber bushings or can they just be tightened?
Thanks,
Jeff
Years ago, my stock leaf spring clamps used to rattle. So I taped them in place. That was so ghetto.
You can't tighten them. They're basically just metal straps.
I think you could probably tack weld them on the top of the spring. What I eventually did was pick some heavy duty clamps from Pep Boys. That worked fine, until I got new leaf packs.
