swapping a ford 8.8 and replacing the d35 on the comanche... am i going to have to weld up any gears?

weld gears for what? You might have to change gears to match the front. It's a great swap!

I don't see any reason to weld the gears either, but you will need to match ratios in the front and rear axles before using 4wd
