Security light?

My '91 XJ which I have had for 5 years, just started acting wierd yesterday. On the same idiot light panel as the check engine light, there is an orange light that says "security" which as of yesterday has been coming on about 30 secods after startup. I've never seen this light on before and didn't even know it was there, but I'm guessing it has something to do with an alarm?

Anyway, when this thing comes on, my windsheld wipers and blower motor don't work. If I shut the jeep off and restart it, they work until the security light comes on. Can anyone confirm what this light does and how to kill that circuit it's controlled by?
