The Third Quarterly meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by President Tom Houston. Meeting place was at the Burger King in Downeyville.

Administrative business discussed:
• The bank account status for the Chapter: F.E.I.N. number has been obtained, creation of the account still pending. All Chapter Board members still intend to contribute to the account to make the starting balance.

Old Chapter business:
• The proposed NAXJA sponsored event at Avalanche Ranch during Memorial Day weekend didn’t happen. Lack of interest?

• The Chapter event for the hard-core ‘wheelers run of Independence Trail scheduled initially for May 2nd, was cancelled due to weather. It was re-scheduled for Sept. 5th. Members Led Lancos, Joey Barone and Troy Betka attended.

• President Tom Houston attempted to create a Chapter run of Red Cone, On June 19th, but heavy snows cancelled the run.

• The Colorado Fest event scheduled for August 8th – 14th was a big success! Numerous attendees (I believe 22 rigs total) enjoyed the event.

New Chapter business:

• President Tom Houston proposed the organization of a Swap Meet event in the near future, sponsored by our Chapter and one or more local off-road type businesses. Bandimere Speedway was suggested as a possible location, using one of their overflow parking lots near C-470. Troy Betka suggested that early Spring might be a good time to hold this event. Tom also suggested that a charity be connected to this event. This idea will be discussed further at the 4th Quarter Meeting.

• Meeting attendees suggested another attempt to organize a Chapter event at Avalanche Ranch and extend the event to include Farmington, NM.

• President Tom Houston motioned that Colorado Fest be an annual event. He liked the idea of using the same time in August for the ’05 event. Troy Betka seconded the motion, and all meeting attendees affirmed the motion. The Colorado Fest event will be scheduled (tentatively) for August 7th – 13th 2005 pending approval from Led Lancos and Joey Barone.

• Member Jim Langdon proposed trying to organize a “Poker Run” contest, possibly during the Colorado Fest event. This proposal was favorable by all meeting attendees. Further information regarding the rules of this kind of contest, and the legalities for using public lands for such an activity is needed before a decision can be made.

• 4th Quarter Meeting plans: President Tom Houston proposed that this meeting be scheduled ASAP. Meeting attendees suggested that a thread be started on the Colorado Chapter and use the “Poll” feature to gauge the best date to hold the meeting. Meeting attendees suggested possible dates should be either early November or early December. Troy Betka will create the thread with the poll and follow the thread until a meeting date is created.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:50 a.m.
