Lug nut torque

How tight are the lug nuts supose to be? Is it really only 75flb that just dosn't seem tight enough.

Factory service manuals have given different numbers for this over the years -- which makes no sense at all, because the studs are all 1/2x20. I agree 75 sounds a bit low ... if you're torquing dry threads. I use anti-sieze on ine, and with lubricated threads you should reduce the torque by about 25%. I use 75 to 80 ft-lbs on mine, WITH the anti-sieze.

I set my 1/2" torque wrench for 90ft/lbs....
