Does anyone know how the stock roof rack is held in place?
Also,IF whatever holds the rack in place can be purchased at a dealer or bone yard.I may of asked this before, but I'm old ..... :confused1
Screws going into little rubber bushings that are molded around a nut that go through a hole in the roof but when tightened will seal the hole and not let water through. The hole is about 1/2 inch in diameter. They are a pita to get in and out.

Technically, they're called "well nuts" and you can get them at parts stores. It's hard to get an old one out, but fairly easy to get a new one in. If you have problems with heavy loads ripping them out, it is possible to replace them with "riv-nuts" or their equivalent "nut-serts" which are solid instead of rubber, but these may not seal as well, and will leak unless you seal and install them carefully. They must be a very precise fit in the hole. It's hard to find the rivnuts in the right size and thread, and they require a special tool to install, but they're strong. The hole in a rivnut goes all the way through, also, whereas the hole in the correct well nut is blind, so it won't leak through the threads.
