Quick D35 question

ok, I have an 89' xj with a D35. I am 95% sure its non c-clip, I havent taken off the cover to confirm. Are these axles any stronger than the c-clip and am I correct in thinking that if one breaks, I wouldnt loose a wheel?

No, it isn't any stronger. The advantage is that if the shaft breakes, the bearing/seal retainer keeps the wheel in proximity to the vehicle. It's not a full flaoting axle so you still can't drive it like that, but at least the wheel doesn't drive away into the forest and drop your Jeep in the dirt.
