Ok I think I have isolated my tranny problems to a faulty 2nd gear solenoid. I have a spare tranny. What I want to know is, would it be better/easier to change the whole tranny or just do the solenoid? Does anyone have the tranny section from the FSM?

Thanks,
Neil

There was an AW-4 manual linked around here somewhere in the last few weeks...

If you are sure that only the solonoids are bad change them. My second gear solonoid was bad for more that 3,000 miles. I finally changed it yesterday; well all three for that matter. It is as simple as dropping the pan, unbolting the old units and replacing them with the new ones. The lockup solonoid which is the front most of the three is different to the other two. While you are there it will be a good time to clean the pan. Sediments in the bottom of the pan would give you an idea of the over all health of the AW4.
