Where to get solenoids for transmission AW4?

Where would I go about getting replacement solenoids for my 97 XJ with the AW4? Just curious if I have to get them through my dealer or if I can get them other places.

I got mine at a trans shop. The solinoids are the same as used in some Toyota's so look for a show that specilizes in them. I paid about $30 for one.

Bring the bad one to match it up.

The dealer from what i remember wanted a rediculous amount for them.

Do you think the trasmission shop would be able to check out my solenoids also or again, would I have to take it to a dealer?

One was in my buddy,s shop awhile ago.IIRc the dealer charged over $200 for the part.

I also need some for my 96' XJ. The dealer wants over $200 each X 3 = a lot of money. Where did you get yours for that price?

Just find your transmission and go from there.

By trans shop i mean a local shop. These tranies are popular with Toys and some places may have them on hand.

The check them use an ohm meter. if good you should read per spec of 11 to 15 ohms. If bad it will be open.
