A/C problems... where to begin?!

Hey folks.. My A/C quit the game a little while back and I haven't bothere to even look at it until recently.

Catch is I have no idea what's wrong or even where to begin.

All I know for certain is:

When I flip the switch to A/C the compressor never even attempts to come on.

and

It's not the high pressure switch. I believe this is the switch that is a screw in type on the condensor (right?).

Any thoughts of where to start?

Swap the relay under your hood with your ignition relay to see if it's the relay.

That's the first place I'd start...

usually when the compressor doesnt come on it is because it is low on refrigerant and the low pressure switch wont ground and allow the compressor to engage. i would look for some signs of oily residue around the a/c hoses and fittings. if none are found then there probably is a leak in the evaporator inside the heater case.
