Anyone know where I can find the specs on a Dana 53 ? Or can anyone tell me the difference in a 53 and 44 carrier.

Nevermind...I figured out the application but don't have the answer you were looking for. The Dana53 was used in Willys Pickups after 1956, but I haven't been able to isolate much other information yet.

Thats all I could find. I did measure both cases today. The 53 is 1/2 inch wider from bearing cap to bearing cap. Everything else is the same as a 44. The reason I was asking is I have a Powerlok for the 53.

Are there any manufacturer numbers on the D53 carrier? Dana's website makes it virtually impossible to find info especially on older parts that are likely not produced any more. If you have a BOM number or some part numbers though you might be able to find some specs; it looks like the kind of site that is chock full o'specs but you need to know the secret word to locate it...
