Any ideas on making a homemade tcase drop?my 2000 has two bolts and two funky studs w nuts on them that looks like it could be a problem. :skull2: :skull1:

Heat the studs! That is the best advice. Try to double nut the studs to get them out. I ended up using the vice grips to get the studs out and it distroyed them, but I just replaced them with bolts. As for the drop just make you some 1" spacers from some galvanized pipe. Thats what I did and I haven't had any problems.

I made a .5" TC drop using 1/2" thick metal bar about 2" wide. Cut two pieces the length of the crossmember. Then lay the crossmember over the metal bar to mark the holes to drill.

I backed the studs out with a pipe wrench, easy. Then install 4 bolts longer than stock. .5" worked on our '98 with 3" of lift.

Good tip on the Pipe Wrench. I knew about heating the studs, it burns the factory Locktite. Found out the hard way when I snapped one off. I still have it - stuck to this expensive Easy-Out.
