splash shield

are there any ill effects from removing the splash shield under the front end?
i'd rather be able to see whats going on under there.
also, what about the plastic fender liners?

Only it allows mud and water and dirt to climg up into the engine compartment inhindered. I lost mine at Uwharrie a coupld weeks ago and am trying to get a replacement in before I head out to Tellico next month.

1. Go to NAPA and get a mud flap for a semi truck for about $10.
2. Cut to fit
3. Drill holes
4. Zip tie
