242 questions/update

I"m not sure why I didn't get any responses on the oem tech forum for my 242 question but that's ok. We got it apart and thankfully found no mess of chewed up metal bits. We did, however find a seriously worn out chain which was begining to contact the case. The sprockets look ok and the local transmission shop says they are most likely still fine. You guys agree?

Anyway the new chain arrives this afternoon. Any suggested checks/fixes while it's apart? thank's in advance.

I'd just do the full rebuild while you are in there...as to whether the sprockets are ok? No way to know from here.

Got the new chain in last night, no more nasty noises, works great.
