I'm in the process of replacing my old broken steering gear box on my '92 XJ and it's all in except for the pitman arm. It simply refuses to go on all the way. I've aligned the splines perfectly, it slips on for about 1/2 and inch and then just stops. I cleaned the splines, greased it up, sprayed liquid wrench, but nothing seems to be working. I even tried using the puller as a pusher, hammering it with a rubber mallet, but no dice. Any ideas?

The same thing happened to me I tryed the PA puller also, I ended up using a good, big pair of vice grips to sandwich them together... Also you shouldnt have used the Liquid wrench it just makes it worse now...

I dont think that I read it properly are you talking about the PA to the Box or the PA to the Tie rod??
