Lift Question

I have a 99 xj. wanting to lift it to run 31 X 10.50 or 11.50. I have been looking at 3" lifts because of no modification needed to the stock drive train. I have found several 4" lifts that interest me more. Can I go to a 4" lift w/o any drive train mods?

With a 99 I'd say you would need an SYE and t-case drop. Possibly shims.

doubt he'd need the sye AND the t-case drop.

that being said, it's kindof an iffy gray area.

i'd suggest lifting it, drop the transfer case and shim it. if it you still get vibes, then ditch the tcase drop and install a sye kit. it's kind of a try it till it works deal w/ newer xj's and 3-4 inches of lift.

on my 2000 I have 3.5" of lift and the transfer case drop solved all the vibes. I tried 4 degree shims first, then took them out and did the drop and it's better with just the drop.
