'93 XJ tranny ID

The ID tag on my '93 XJ Country (auto) says Aisin AW but nowhere does it say AW4. It had a model number that sounded like a common jeep tranny, was anything else available? I need to get back under there and see what the model number was.

If it's an auto in that year it's an AW-4.

If it's an auto behind a 4.0L engine, it's an AW-4

I think AW4 is Jeep's designation, but not necessarily Aisin's. Don't worry about it.

It was odd that the tag did not designate AW4, although I was 99% sure that was all that was available for an auto that year.

Checked the model number again, it's 30-43LE, this still an AW4, huh.
