has anyone used it before on an XJ? I was thumbing throught my old catalog and couldnt find anything XJ specific and im not sure what would work. I have lots of frayed wiring i need to replace.

I've used them on bikes. Their generic stuff is sweet cause then you can set it up as you wish.

Check out Egypt 1 I think it is. I got some harnesses from him for my swap and they were top notch. He has a post in the Venders forum. Has lots of Jeeps to part out, and his harnesses are like yours they plug right in. Mine were less than $100 each!

Can't say that I've done the XJ with Painless, but like Sarge I used a generic PW harness to bring my 73 CJ5 back to life...I'd recommend them again for that type application (simple circuits and no computer with multiple customization opportunities) but don't know how they are for more advanced vehicle controls.

I used a painless wiring kit on a 74 CJ-5 also no computer and was very happy with the kit and the install went very smoothly.
