Drove up Pearl Pass and ran into a few local folks clearing the way to the top. They spent several hours clearing a snowbank and now you can go to about a mile distant from the pass from the Aspen (Ashcroft) side. May be clear all the way to the pass by the end of the month or early August. I don't know of the condition from Crested Butte.
Express Creek road (going to Taylor Pass from Ashcroft) is closed as there were severe t-storms that washed out about 40 feet of the road and carved a deep gully. Forest Service is attempting to fix it but won't be able to for several days.
Montezuma basin is open all the way to the trailhead.
Just thought I'd let all you folks know.
