Freak'in right turn signal

Recently, whenever I engage my right turn signal - for the first 1-2 seconds,
it'll blink so rapidly that the lights barely have enough time to become bright
enough to see in daylight. After 3-4 seconds, it'll calm down and behave
normally.

I've taken apart and tested both front and rear lamps, cleaned the sockets,
as well as the dash signal indicator bulbs. No change.

When I take out the front bulb - the rear bulb blinks normally.

When I put back the front bulb, and take out the rear bulb - the front
bulb blinks normally.

When both bulbs are in - the signal will first blink rapidly (...like CRAZY!)
and then will behave normally after 3-4 seconds.

The left turn signal is 100% A-OK.

Any ideas?

Grab the turn signal flasher unit from the fuse block temporarily from a donor vehicle and plug it in yours. That should solve the problem. I hooked up a boat trailer harness for my brother once and the lights flashed real fast. A new flasher solved the problem.

Check your ignition switch and wiring around it. My right turn signals in my '90 had problems when it was replaced.
