I was pulling my brothers carup in the garage. Afterwards, i noticed I had a tire mark on the driver's side rear where I started at. Isn't the passenger side tire the one that spins on a non posi rear?

In an open differential ( non-posi) the tire with the least amount of traction is the one that spins. So unless you have a wore out posi, then it sounds like you have an open diff. For example: if your passenger side rear is on a patch of ice and your driver side is on pavement, your pass. side will spin. If the driver side was the one on the ice, then it would spin.
