CB antenna question

When I bought my el-cheapo RadioShack-special anntena, they had on the same shelf this set that somehow mounts on window glass; the antenna stuck to the outside and a little black box right behind it on the other side of the glass... with nothing but glass in between. Do those actually work?

NO!!! Its kinda like the string and can thing. :laugh2:

They work better than not having any antenna at all, but you loose a lot of signal strength then you go with an antenna like that. Would be much better to run some coax out through the door and have an external antenna.
